The School Council at Beckermet Primary School consists of a team of extremely active, dedicated and well organised children. The members of the council take their roles very seriously and, as a result of their hard work, have orchestrated and coordinated positive changes within the school.
The School Council is the voice of the children. The Council consists of one representative in each year from across the school from Year 1 to Year 6 alongside Miss Richardson. New representatives are elected each school year by the children themselves. The Council meets at least once every month where they contribute to school improvement and work together to ensure the health and well-being of all members of the school community.
Being a School Councilor provides the opportunity to learn real-life skills take on responsibilities and be involved in decision making. Recently the children have looking at the provisions used at playtime and are actively looking at creating a newsletter for our school families.
Everyone really loves the responsibility of being on the School Council. They embrace their role with great pride and enthusiasm.
Each half-term the School Council issues a newsletter. The newsletter keeps the school community up-to-date with everything that is going on. This can include themed days, trips out and our efforts to support the local community. Please see our newsletters below.
